Question 1

My Car Was Hit on October 20–21 — What Do I Do First?

Accepted Answer

Photograph every panel in daylight, don't wash the car, open a comprehensive claim with your insurer, and call us for a free inspection by appointment — we'll handle the rest with your adjuster.

Question 2

Will My Insurance Cover Hail Damage Repair?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you carry comprehensive coverage — the part of your policy that covers events that aren't a collision, like theft, a cracked windshield or hail. Hail is an act of nature, so the claim is no-fault: it says nothing about your driving and generally isn't surcharged the way an at-fault accident is. Liability-only policies don't cover damage to your own vehicle. Not sure what you have? Bring your insurance card to the free inspection and we'll check with you.

Question 3

I'm Insured with State Farm — What Do I Do?

Accepted Answer

We're a State Farm Approved Vendor, so you can bring your vehicle straight to us. Call or request a free inspection; we document every dent, write the estimate in the format State Farm expects, and handle the adjuster and any supplement directly with them. You open the claim with State Farm (app, website or agent) and we take it from there. Approved Vendor status is not an endorsement — under Arizona law you always choose your shop.

Question 4

Does PDR Damage My Factory Paint?

Accepted Answer

No — preserving the paint is the whole point of paintless dent repair. Our technicians reach the back of the panel and press each dent out with precision tools while a light board shows the reflection straightening. Nothing is sanded, filled or sprayed, so there's no color mismatch, no clear-coat failure years later and no paint work on your vehicle's history. The only time paint is touched is when a hailstone already cracked it — and we'll show you that at the inspection.

Question 5

How Long Does Hail Repair Take?

Accepted Answer

Paintless repair is measured in days, not the weeks a repaint takes, because there's no sanding, priming or paint curing. The schedule depends on how many panels were hit, how many are aluminum, and how quickly your insurer approves the estimate and any supplement. We give you a realistic timeline at the free inspection and keep you updated while the car is with us. After a major storm, booking early gets you an earlier slot.

Question 6

Do I Have to Use the Shop My Insurance Recommends?

Accepted Answer

No. In Arizona you have the right to choose who repairs your vehicle. Your insurer may suggest a shop from its network, and that can be a fine option, but it's a suggestion, not a requirement — and they can't lower your payout for choosing your own shop. Tell your adjuster you're using Scottsdale Hail Repair; we coordinate the rest directly with your insurer.

Question 7

Do You Help with a Rental Car or My Deductible?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On qualifying comprehensive claims we offer up to $1,000 in deductible assistance and help coordinate a rental through your policy's rental benefit so you stay on the road while we work. Eligibility depends on your claim and coverage, so it's never guaranteed in advance — we explain exactly what you qualify for at the free inspection, before any work starts, and we never inflate an estimate to cover a deductible.

Question 8

How Much Does Hail Repair Cost?

Accepted Answer

On a comprehensive claim your cost is usually your deductible; your insurer pays the rest of the approved repair. Without insurance, PDR is priced from an industry matrix based on the panel, the number of dents and their size: a light hit on one or two panels can be a few hundred dollars, while a roof and hood with hundreds of dents can run into the thousands. The free inspection gives you an exact figure before any work starts. Inspections are free and by appointment only.

Question 9

Will Pre-Existing Dents Be a Problem?

Accepted Answer

No. We note any prior damage at the inspection so it stays separate from the hail claim. Insurers pay only for storm damage, and we bill only for storm damage — that protects you and keeps the claim clean. If you'd like unrelated dents fixed while the car is with us, we quote them separately so you can decide.

Question 10

How Long Do I Have to File a Hail Claim in Arizona?

Accepted Answer

Most policies don't set a fixed deadline, but they do require prompt notice, and the longer you wait the harder it is to tie the damage to a specific storm. File within a few weeks if you can; the free inspection documentation we provide makes that easy. Check your policy or ask your agent for your carrier's exact terms.
